Dr. Maya Levy

DVM

Dr. Maya Levy has been practicing in the Calgary area for 15 years. Dr. Levy treasures the close connections she has developed not only with the amazing pets she treats but even more, the humans they bring with them to the clinic. Every day at work is a gift because she gets to see the beauty of the human-animal bond. Dr. Levy takes an open and straight forward approach in her work and in her life. But there is always an element of fun and humor.  In her spare time, Maya loves to spend time outdoors cycling and hiking, and camping with her two amazing daughters. She has 2 dogs, who can often be seen at the clinic with her, and a cat.

Dr. Tessa Maysenholder

We are excited to welcome Dr. Tessa Maysenholder to Bridlewood Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Maysenholder attended the University of Calgary where she received her Bachelor of Science with distinction in 2016. Afterward, Tessa moved to Saskatoon where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with distinction in 2020. Dr. Maysenholder moved back to Calgary with her orange tabby, Kevin, in June to begin her work here with us! Tessa is extremely passionate about helping pets and owners. She is a fantastic clinician and is committed to providing the best possible care to her patients. In her spare time, Tessa loves hiking, camping, and snowboarding.

Dr Sandy Bitner

Dr. Sandra grew up in Calgary, and was lucky enough to get a scholarship to study Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Having lived for three and a half years in the Caribbean, and surviving Hurricane Ivan that wiped the island out in 2004, she returned to Alberta where she practiced mixed animal medicine. Sandra has worked all over the province, but is now focused on small animal medicine and calls Didsbury home. Education on how to keep client’s furry loved ones healthy and happy are a major focus for her now.

Prior to her “late in life” career change to veterinary medicine, she worked as a senior research associate at the Foothills hospital and was involved with research in Cardiology, Neurology, Respiratory Medicine, Oncology and Organ Donation. Sandra spends down time with her husband Chris, their 4 rescue dogs, 4 pot belly pigs, 3 cats and rabbit !! She looks forward to meeting you at the clinic and helping you take care of your pets.

Donna – Clinic Manager

Donna comes to us from the United Kingdom ( not that her accent gives that away the moment you speak with her 🙂 ) She has been with the clinic many years and is happy to help with pretty much anything. When not at the clinic she is busy at home with her 2 horses – Mercedes & Summer and her 3 dogs – Skye, Luna and Bowie. If there is any spare time left over she loves DIY projects and decorating.

Sarah – Registered Veterinary Technologist

Sarah joined the Bridlewood Veterinary Team in July of 2017. She graduated with her Animal Health Technician Diploma in 2011 and in 2014 with her Bachelors of Science. Her biggest passion in life is animals, along with ‘glamping’ in Caroline. In spring of 2018, she got a new puppy named “Gru”, who loves going in to the clinic everyday surrounded by a lot of furry friends.

Raija – Client Care Specialist/Assistant

Raija is always ready to greet our clients with a smile and a helping hand. She also spends much of her time in the clinic assisting our technicians. Raija has 2 cats at home named Han and Chewy. She loves the outdoors, especially kayaking with her husband and rock climbing.

Katelyn – Veterinary Technician Assistant

Katelyn joined us in early 2022, after completing the VTA program at Olds College. Her love and compassion for animals and their owners, has encouraged her to go back to school in the future and become a Registered Animal Health Technologist. In her down time, you can find her outside adventuring with her two dogs, Cash and Mika, spending time with her family and friends or a very rare lazy night in baking/experimenting with new recipes!

Tamara – Client Care Specialist

Tamara joined the team in 2023 and loves developing relationships with you and your pets. She is passionate about pet nutrition – she’s currently working towards her Certification in Small Animal Natural Nutrition. When not at work, Tamara is likely spending her time reading, enjoying the sunshine outside or catering to the needs of her 3 dogs – Maddi, Milly…and of course, Dolly.
